Our journey today takes us by coach to the luxurious Dromoland Castle, located between Shannon Airport and Ennis with time to relax and explore this five -star deluxe hotel in all its splendour before meeting our fellow traveller for a Welcome Drink before dinner.
After breakfast at this spectacular castle we travel across the Burren to the Atlantic Edge experience at the Cliffs of Moher. Take a walk up to O'Brien's Tower and enjoy the amazing views and take in the fresh Atlantic sea air before boarding the coach for the short journey to The Burren Smokehouse Visitors Centre which was established over 20 years ago. Sample their organic smoke salmon and see the first kiln used when the smokehouse was set up!
On our way back to our hotel this afternoon, we'll stop in the market town of Ennis for some free time to explore.
After breakfast, it's time to enjoy the magnificent city of Limerick. Home of Pulitzer Prize winning author, Frank McCourt. We meet our local tour guide for a part walking tour / part coach tour exploring Georgian Limerick, The Treaty Stone, St Mary's Cathedral. Our guide will also include the story of Angela's Ashes in our tour of this bustling city.
During the afternoon we travel to the nearby town of Adare to indulge in a scrumptious Afternoon Tea before boarding the coach and returning to our hotel.
After a leisurely breakfast, we depart our hotel today for home and travel back through Co Tipperary stopping in Cashel to visit Ballyowen House for a guided tour by the owners. Ballyowen House is one of the finest remaining examples of neo-Classical Georgian architecture of a large Irish Country House.
