Our journey to Cornwall continues a wonderful visit to the stunning National Trust property of Lanhydrock House. This former Jacobean mansion was devastated by fire and rebuilt in Victorian style. Beautiful gardens surround the mansion and the interior can be explored at leisure. There are guides available in rooms to answer any questions and tell you the history of the house. Discover two sides of Victorian life: from the kitchens, nurseries and servant’s quarters, which offer a thrilling glimpse into life ‘below stairs’, to the luxurious family areas, elegant dining room and spacious bedrooms which reveal the comforts of ‘upstairs’ living.
Later, we visit the nearby Wheal Martyn China Clay Mining Heritage Centre, set within a preserved Victoria Clay works, you’ll learn about this billion Pound industry for which Cornwall is famous. This attractions is always popular with our guests. Dinner together this evening at our hotel
Dominated by its magnificent beach of golden sand, it has a deep-rooted fishing tradition and a thriving artistic inheritance. Take time to explore the harbour, then stroll through the maze of busy, narrow cobbled streets.
Our scenic journey continues by Penzance to Land’s End, the most westerly point of Britain. Enjoy splendid vistas of one of England’s most beautiful coastal landscapes with cliffs carved out by the waves of the mighty Atlantic Ocean. We stop here at Land’s End for a stroll, pop by the Visitor’s Centre and our visit is finished off beautifully by a delightful ‘Cornish Cream Tea’. On our journey back to the hotel, we’ll stop for a short time in Marazion which offers splendid views of St. Michael’s Mount, an important pilgrimage destination throughout the ages and an iconic photo image of Cornwall.
Our tour guide will show us some of the locations that have made Bath a desired destination for centuries. You will have some free time for lunch and plenty of time to explore the Georgian streets and picturesque walkways at your own pace.
